Margaret’s Fine Consignments sells fine quality new and used women and men’s clothing, jewelry, purses and other accessories and finer household goods.


WHAT WE ACCEPT

Clothing must be current styles and not more than 3 years old. All items must be laundered, pressed and hung on hangers free of wrinkles or stains. We cannot accept items with spots, holes, tears or missing buttons. Accessories such as purses, hats, shoes and jewelry must be in like new condition.  Household items must be in good condition. Clean with no chips, stains or broken parts. Margaret’s Fine Consignments reserves the right to accept or reject any items for consignment.


WHEN WE ACCEPT

Merchandise is accepted at the receiving window located outside in of the rear store. For your convenience you may drive up and drop off your items at the window. Experienced staff with immediately review your items and determine what Margaret’s can accept. New consignors must come in and review/sign consignment policy contract and set up their account.


HOW ITEMS ARE PRICED

Margaret’s is committed to pricing your items at a level that will most likely result in a sale. Our experienced staff researches current prices and is well versed on what is selling well in the store. Consignors may determine the selling price on a specific item. In such circumstances, however, the Margaret’s may reject any price that is believed to not result in a sale. A handling fee of $3 or $6 depending on price range is added to the sales price of all items. Items will remain on floor for 30 days at full price. Day 31 through 60 each item will be reduced 25%. 


HOW WE PAY

Commissions are paid for items sold in accordance with the Consignment Agreement. The specifics of the agreement will be reviewed with you at the time the agreement is signed. In general, however, commissions are calculated based on the price, less the $3 or $6 dollar handling fee and range from 50% to 60% depending on the price. Consignors may collect on their account at the front register or call to find out account information during the hours listed above. We cannot disclose account balance over the phone and every consignor must present photo ID when collecting on their account


WHAT IF MY ITEM DOES NOT SELL?

The quality of merchandise we accept, together with our attractive sales floors and exceptional customer service combines to maximize the potential for sale. All items priced under $100 are kept on the floor for 30 days at full price. Days 31-60 they are reduced by 25% after which time they expire. Items over $100 are kept on floor for 30 days at full price. Days 31-60 they are reduced by 30% and day 61 to 90 they are reduced by 60% after that time they will expire. It is the consignor’s responsibility to locate any unsold items on the sales floor before their expiration date. A list of sold and unsold items will be provided at the payout window. If consignor does not collect unsold items by expiration date the items become property of Margaret’s Fine Consignments. Please note that Margaret’s Fine Consignment is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
