Margaret’s, Inc. sells fine quality new and used women’s, men’s, children’s clothing and accessories and finer household items.

Current Hours to bring in items to consign: Tuesday – Friday 10 – 5 and Saturday 10 – 4.

What we accept

Clothing must be current styles, not more than 3 years old, and must be freshly laundered or dry cleaned and should be on hangers. We cannot accept items with spots, holes, tears or missing buttons. Accessories such as purses, hats, shoes and jewelry must be in like-new condition. Household items must be in good condition; clean with no chips, stains or broken parts. Margaret’s Inc. reserves the right to accept or reject any item for consignment.

When we accept

Merchandise is accepted Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our receiving window is located outside at the rear of the store. For your convenience, you may drive up and drop off your items at the window; however consignors must come into the store to sign a Consignment Agreement and/or to collect on your account.

How your items are priced

Margaret’s is committed to pricing your items at a level that will most likely result in a sale. Our experienced staff researches current prices, and are well versed on what is selling well in our store at particular times of the year. Consignors may set a minimum at which to sell an item, or set an actual price for an item. In such a case, however, the pricer may reject any item that they believe will not generate a sale at the price at which you are willing to sell. A $1.00 handling fee is added to the sales price of all items.

How we pay

 Commissions are paid for items sold in accordance with the Consignment Agreement. The specifics of the Agreement will be reviewed with you at the time the Agreement is signed. In general, however, commissions are calculated based on the price sold, less the $1.00 handling fee, and range from 50% to 60%, depending on the price range. Consignors may collect on their account at the Payout Window inside the store Tuesday, Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We do not give account information out over the phone.

What if my item does not sell

The quality of merchandise we accept, together with our attractive sales floors and exceptional customer service, combine to maximize the potential for sales. All items are kept on the floor for 30 days, after which they are discounted and kept on the sales floor for an additional 30 days. Items priced under $100 expire at the end of 60 days. Items priced over $100 are given a further discount after 60 days, and will remain on the floor for an additional 30 days, after which they too will expire. Consignors may pick up their unsold items at any time. Unclaimed items and are either donated to charity or further reduced and sold, with proceeds used to fund charities.
